"Potpourri of Life" by Verla Wills

Verla Wills image Verla Wills was born and raised in Richmond, Indiana, later moving to Indianapolis.

Always an avid reader, Verla was surprised to learn that she could also write poetry.

Her first poem was inspired by the Indianapolis 500 race in 1994.

She was then approached by the Indiana Weekender to write poems for the front page of the central Indiana newspaper each week.
Since then, she has been published by Sparrowgrass Poetry, International Society of Poets and Poetry Guild, receiving several awards.

Being the mother of four and married to a musician, she has had the opportunity to be enlightened on many situations and life's experiences.

Verla is an animal lover and now resides in Indianapolis with her husband, five dogs and a canary.

"I just read "Midnight Lemonade" by Verla Wills and have to say that I'm glad there is still a glimmer of hope in our country for the true values of life and it shows in this book of poems. Verla has managed to reach down into people's lives and view the goodness, tenderness, sadness and sometimes pain that lies within us all.

She hits straight to the heart and it brings tears, sometimes happy, sometimes not. "The Eye of the Storm" got to me with all it's truths. I was in that storm once and she managed to put those emotions down on paper for the world to feel and share. In her way, she shares with you these things and that is a big help in these troubled times.

"The loss of a Child" is also so dear to my heart and holds a personal place there. She truly has a God given talent.
